Solar Flood Light with Independent MPPT Controller FL Series 10W–50W Project & Application Cases
The FL Series is designed for commercial and off-grid outdoor lighting projects where the lighting position and the best solar-charging position may be different. Its split design allows the solar panel and LED fixture to be positioned separately with a 2–5m cable connection, providing greater flexibility for complex installation sites.
Typical Applications: Suitable for parking areas, warehouses, loading zones, billboards, building entrances, driveways, industrial facilities, construction sites, security areas and other locations where grid wiring is unavailable or costly.
Flexible Installation: Depending on the project, the LED fixture can be mounted on a wall, pole, building facade, billboard structure, warehouse exterior or other suitable support. The solar panel can then be positioned separately toward better sunlight, helping avoid shading from roofs, trees, buildings or advertising structures. For road-lighting applications that also require independent panel and luminaire adjustment, compare the FT all-in-two solar street light.
Commercial & Security Lighting: For parking lots, warehouse entrances and security areas, multiple FL units can be arranged according to mounting height, beam angle and required illuminance to improve coverage and reduce dark zones. For billboards and building facades, the fixture can be aimed directly at the target surface while the solar panel is installed in a more suitable charging position.
Project Configuration: Final FL model selection should consider the illuminated area, mounting height, target lux, beam angle, nightly operating hours, local solar conditions and installation structure. Sungreat Energy can recommend the appropriate FL10, FL15, FL20, FL30 or FL50 configuration according to the actual site requirements.
Solar Flood Light with Independent MPPT Controller FL Series 10W–50W Production Process
Each FL Series unit is assembled and tested as a complete split solar-lighting system. The solar panel, LiFePO₄ battery, LED fixture, MPPT controller and cable connection are matched according to the confirmed model before production.
- Component & Configuration Check
Solar panels, LiFePO₄ batteries, LED modules, MPPT controllers, housings, cables and mounting accessories are checked against the approved production configuration. Battery capacity, solar-panel output and electrical connections are verified before assembly to reduce component mismatch.
- Split-System Assembly & Wiring
The LED fixture, battery and independent MPPT controller are assembled and connected with the separate solar-panel system. Cable polarity, connectors, sealing points and the 2–5m panel-to-light connection are checked to ensure reliable charging and flexible installation.
- Controller Programming & Functional Test
Automatic ON/OFF, time dimming and motion-sensor functions are programmed according to the order requirements. Solar charging, battery discharge, LED operation and controller response are tested together as one complete system rather than as separate components.
- 48-Hour Aging & Final Inspection
Completed FL Series units undergo a 48-hour aging process to identify unstable LED, controller or electrical components before shipment. Final inspection checks lighting operation, charging response, wiring, waterproof sealing, appearance, model labels and mounting accessories before packing.
Solar Flood Light with Independent MPPT Controller FL Series 10W–50W Overview & Details
Split-System Design: The solar panel and LED fixture are installed separately with a 2–5m cable connection, allowing the panel to face the best available sunlight while the light is positioned according to the required illumination area. This is especially useful for walls, billboards, parking areas, entrances and partially shaded locations.
Independent MPPT Control: The independent MPPT controller tracks the solar panel operating point under changing sunlight conditions and manages charging to the LiFePO₄ battery, helping the system make better use of the available solar energy.
LiFePO₄ Battery Storage: FL Series configurations use 3.2V 20Ah–50Ah LiFePO₄ batteries matched with 20W–50W solar panels. The FL50 combines a 3.2V 50Ah battery with a 50W solar panel for applications requiring greater stored energy and longer nighttime operation.
LED & Lighting Output: The 10W–50W series delivers approximately 2,500–8,000 lumens using Philips, Osram or Bridgelux LED options. Different models and lighting distributions can be selected according to mounting height, illuminated area and required brightness rather than choosing wattage alone.

FAQ of Solar Flood Light with Independent MPPT Controller FL Series 10W–50W
A split solar flood light allows the solar panel and LED fixture to be positioned independently, which is especially useful when the best lighting position does not receive the best sunlight.
Installation Flexibility: The FL Series supports a 2–5m cable between the solar panel and light fixture. The panel can face the best available sunlight while the fixture is aimed at the parking area, billboard, entrance, warehouse or security zone that actually requires illumination.
Matched Energy System: FL configurations combine 20–50W solar panels with 3.2V 20–50Ah LiFePO₄ batteries and independent MPPT control. The panel, battery and lighting program are matched as one system rather than selected independently.
Easier Maintenance: Because the solar panel, fixture, battery and controller are separate functional components, individual parts can be inspected or serviced without replacing the complete lighting system.
For commercial and EPC projects, this structure provides more flexibility than an integrated light when sunlight direction, mounting position and lighting direction are different.
The coverage area of a solar flood light depends on lumen output, mounting height, beam angle and the required illuminance—not LED wattage alone.
Small Areas: FL10–FL20 models provide approximately 2,500–4,400 lumens and are suitable for entrances, pathways, small courtyards, signs and localized security lighting.
Medium Areas: FL30 provides approximately 5,400–6,600 lumens and can be used for building facades, billboards, warehouse entrances and medium-sized outdoor areas.
Larger Commercial Areas: FL50 provides approximately 6,000–8,000 lumens and is suitable for parking areas, loading zones, construction sites and perimeter lighting. For projects targeting approximately 5–15 lux, the actual coverage should be determined according to mounting height and optical distribution rather than using one fixed square-meter value.
For larger sites, multiple luminaires can be arranged to improve uniformity and reduce dark zones. Sungreat Energy can recommend the FL model, beam angle and fixture quantity based on the target area dimensions, mounting height and required lux.
The operating time of a solar flood light depends on battery capacity, actual LED operating power, local Peak Sun Hours and the programmed lighting mode. The rated LED wattage does not mean the lamp needs to operate at full power throughout the night.
A Simple Example: The FL50 uses a 3.2V 50Ah LiFePO₄ battery, providing approximately 160Wh of nominal energy storage. Continuous 50W operation would consume this energy quickly, so longer nighttime operation normally relies on intelligent dimming rather than full-power lighting all night.
Typical Energy-Saving Schedule:
30% brightness for the first 3 hours
20% brightness for the next 4 hours
10% brightness for the final 5 hours
For a 50W lamp, this example uses approximately 110Wh of LED energy over 12 hours, leaving additional capacity for system losses and battery reserve. A lower standby level can also be programmed during very low-activity periods, while motion sensing can temporarily increase brightness when people or vehicles are detected.
Project Configuration: The final dimming percentages should be selected according to the required lux level, traffic or activity pattern, battery capacity, local solar conditions and required backup days. Commercial security areas may require higher nighttime output than billboards, entrances or low-traffic sites.
LED wattage and lumen output tell you how much light the fixture produces, but beam angle determines where that light is distributed. Two flood lights with the same wattage can create very different lighting results when different optical lenses are used.
Narrow Beam: A narrower beam concentrates more light within a smaller target area, making it suitable for billboards, building facades, entrances and locations where longer-distance illumination is required.
Wide Beam: A wider beam spreads the available light across a larger area, making it more suitable for parking areas, courtyards, warehouses and general security lighting. The larger coverage area normally results in lower illuminance at any single point.
Practical Project Reference: For outdoor projects targeting approximately 5–15 lux, the correct beam angle should be selected together with mounting height, illuminated area and fixture quantity. A wider beam may reduce dark zones, while a narrower beam can provide stronger illumination in a specific target area.
For commercial projects, Sungreat Energy can use the required lux level, mounting height, target dimensions and available IES photometric data to recommend the appropriate FL model and optical distribution.
A larger solar panel does not automatically create a better solar flood light. Charging performance depends on the balance between solar-panel power, LiFePO₄ battery capacity, daily LED energy consumption, MPPT control and local Peak Sun Hours.
The FL Series uses matched configurations from 20W–50W solar panels and 3.2V 20Ah–50Ah LiFePO₄ batteries. Each combination is selected according to the lighting model and expected operating requirements rather than simply installing the largest possible panel.
For projects requiring longer operating hours or more cloudy-day backup, Sungreat Energy can evaluate the daily energy consumption, local solar resource and dimming schedule before adjusting the solar-panel or battery configuration.
Choosing the right FL model starts with the project conditions rather than LED wattage alone. The FL Series covers 10W–50W and approximately 2,500–8,000 lumens, so the final configuration should be matched to the required lighting area and operating conditions.

Lighting Requirement: Provide the target area dimensions, mounting height, required lux level and preferred lighting coverage. The FL Series is generally designed for mounting heights of approximately 4–8m, while the final beam angle and fixture quantity should be selected according to the actual site.
Solar Conditions: Provide the installation city or project location, available sunlight and any shading from buildings, trees or billboards. If the best solar position is separated from the lighting position, the FL Series supports approximately 2–5m between the panel and fixture.
Operating Schedule: Confirm the required nightly operating hours, whether time dimming or motion sensing is needed, and the required cloudy/rainy-day backup. These conditions determine how the LED load, battery capacity and solar panel should be matched.
Project Environment: Tell us whether the light will be installed on a wall, pole or structure, and whether the site has high temperatures, heavy rain, dust, humidity or other demanding outdoor conditions. The standard FL Series provides IP66 protection and a specified operating range of −25°C to +65°C.
Based on these details, Sungreat Energy can recommend the appropriate FL10, FL15, FL20, FL30 or FL50 configuration together with the solar panel, battery capacity, lighting mode and installation arrangement.
